Setting Time Signal. This clock is radio controlled meaning it uses radio signals to update the timekeeping. When you first install the batteries into the clock it will immediately start searching for a time signal. The hands on the face of the clock will rotate around until they both reach the 12 o clock position where it will then begin to search for a signal. During this time it is best to leave your clock on a window sill or somewhere upstairs where the clock will receive a stronger signal. It will usually update around 3am when there is less interference. When the clock picks up the signal, the hands will quickly spin round to the correct time and the spoken time will be updated as well. If the clock fails to pickup a time signal, you can either refit the batteries so the clock auto searches again or you can put the clock into a manual search mode. To do this, press and hold the HOUR (+) and the MIN (-) keys on the back of the clock simultaneously for approximately 1 second. The second hand should stop moving and the clock will sound a beep to indicate it has started to search. Once the clock has found a signal the hands will quickly move to display the correct time. Manual time setting: If the signal reception fails, the time can be set manually. Press and hold the SET button until the clock announces “SET TIME”. Use the HOUR (+) and MIN (-) keys on the back of the clock to set the time hours and time minutes. After setting the time, press the SET button again to enter the “SET YEAR” programme. Use the HOUR (+) and MIN (-) keys on the back of the clock to set the chosen year. After setting the year, press the SET button again to set the chosen month. Use the HOUR (+) and MIN (-) button to scroll through the dates until you reach the one you want. Once you have set the time and the date, press the TALKING button on the top of the clock to confirm the settings. Volume Adjustment: In order to increase/decrease the volume of the clock, you can use the HOUR (+) and MIN (-) to increase or decrease the clocks speech volume.
