Desktop video Magnifier TV/MONITOR Instructions INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing a Cobolt Speechmaster Desktop magnifier. Please take a few moments to read these instructions, particularly those on INSTALLATION before you connect your magnifier. INSTALLATION AND USE FOR TV/ MONITOR ONLY 1. Remove all packing materials and accessories and retain them, in case the user needs to return the magnifier to us in the future. 2. Place the magnifier on a hard standing platform. 3. Connect the mains adaptor into the socket labelled DC_12V on the back of the magnifier. 4. Connect the HDMI or VGA cable into the socket labelled HDMI_OUT or VGA_OUT on the back of the magnifier. 5. Connect the other end of the HDMI or VGA cable into a HDMI or VGA socket in the back of the TV/Monitor. 6. Switch on the magnifier using the POWER button on the top right, a green light will indicate the magnifier has powered up. 7. Turn on the TV/Monitor and set it to the correct input method. 8. Place an item or text document under the magnifier. The magnifier will now display onto your screen, If nothing is displayed repeat steps 3 - 8. ON SCREEN MENU On screen menu functions from left to right. Auto-focus. Magnify the selected area. Zoom in. Zoom out. Rotate image 90,180,270,360 degrees. Mirror the current image. Freeze the image. Contrast captured image with live image. Capture the live image. Record a video clip. Browse videos and images on SD card. Display captured images with live image on top right window Annotate on screen Settings DEVICE CONTROL BUTTONS Top right corner - Power on / Power off. Control buttons starting at the 12 oclock position and working clockwise. Zoom in. Change resolution or exit main menu. Fucntion selection right. Main menu. Zoom out. Change between VGA and HDMI out put. Function select left. LED light settings REMOTE CONTROL BUTTONS All rows start from left to right. Row 1- Menu. Row 2 - Resolution. Row 3 - VGA/HDMI. Row 4 - Photo, Zoom in, Record. Row 5 - Near, AUTO/OK, Far. Row 6 - Zoom out. Row 7 - Online, light, Exit Row 8 - Browse, Delete Row 9 - Freeze,Split,Text/Mg Row 10 - Rotate, Mirror, Mono/Neg OPERATING THE MAGNIFIER AND FUNCTIONS The functions below can be operated using the remote control or the on screen menu. AF - Auto focus the camera image if the on screen image appears blurred. MAGNIFIER - resets the zoom level to x0 magnification from any magnified position. ZOOM IN - allows the user to increase the magnification up-to x100. ZOOM OUT - decreases the image magnification. ROTATE - rotates the image clockwise in 90 degree intervals. MIRROR - changes the view of the on screen image allowing back to front and upside down images to be displayed correctly without having to move the item manually. FREEZE - captures the image on screen allowing the item or wording to be moved but the image remains the same. This image will not be saved, a second press of OK/AUTO on the FREEZE control will remove the captured image and live imaging will be displayed. DIVISION - allows the user to split the screen in two halves, the split screen will show a saved image in one half and the live camera image in the other. The saved image can be changed to any saved image on the devices SD card. To return to the main menu press the EXIT button twice on remote or device controls DIVISION sub menu Back - used to go back to the stored image selection menu, scroll left or right to highlight a saved image and press OK/AUTO to load image in split screen mode. Prev - used to scroll back through the saved images one by one. Next - used to scroll forward through saved images one by one. AF - auto focus the live camera image. Zoom in - allows the user to increase the live camera image up-to x100. Zoom out - decreases the live camera image magnification. Positioning - changes the view of the split screen from side by side view to over and under view. Freeze - freezes and un-freezes the live camera image. SNAP - captures the live image and saves it to the SD card. RECORD - pressing OK/AUTO will start a video recording of the live camera image, the time lapse of the video will be displayed on screen, pressing OK/AUTO again will stop the recording and it will automatically be saved to the SD card. BROWSER - view all the stored images and videos saved to the SD card. Using the scroll left and right controls on the remote to highlight a stored image or video use the OK/AUTO button to view the image or video in full screen mode. BROWSER sub menu Back - used to go back to the stored image selection menu. Prev - used to scroll back through the saved images one by one. Play - press OK/AUTO to play and pause videos. Next - used to scroll forward through saved images one by one. Delete - press OK/AUTO to delete image or video from SD card permanently. PIP - allows the user to display a saved image and the live camera image at the same time. To return to the main menu press the EXIT button twice on remote or device controls. PIP sub menu Back - used to go back to the stored image selection menu. Prev - used to scroll back through the saved images one by one. Next - used to scroll forward through saved images one by one. AF - re-focuses the live camera image. Zoom in - allows the user to magnify the live camera image up-to x100. Zoom out - decreases the live camera image magnification Image swap - allows the user to change the saved image shown in the smaller viewing box to exchange position with live camera image in larger box. Positioning - moves the view of the split screen from the top left , top right, bottom right, bottom left and then back to the top left. Freeze - freezes and un-freezes the live camera image. ANOTATION - allows the user to draw and write over a live image and then save it to the SD card. Please note this function is only available for touch screen monitors using a VGA– OUT. SD CARD - insert a standard size SD card into the slot labelled SD on the back of the magnifier. If the user is unable to capture images and record then the SD card requires formatting. FORMATTING SD CARD - With a SD card fitted to the device open the setting menu. Scroll down to formatting and highlight execute, press OK/AUTO and the magnifier will now format the SD card. Once the formatting is complete all functions requiring an SD card will now be active. LIGHTS - Using either the light button on the remote or the device allows the user to change the combination of lighting on the magnifier COLOUR MODE - using the MONO/NEG control on the remote only will allow the user to change the colour from colour, mono or negative. SETTINGS MENU Focus mode - auto/push, when auto is selected the camera will automatically focus when it detects movement, push requires the user to manually press the AUTO/OK button to adjust focus. Colour - Mono - Neg - select any one of the three to change the on screen colour mode. Image para - selecting either text or image will change the screens visual settings to make the colouring softer or sharper. Using left or right arrows on the remote or device will allow the user to change the brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, denoise (to remove on screen interference) and volume. Light 1/Light 2 - allows the user to change the light combinations on the magnifier. Flicker - selecting 50hz or 60hz depending on the requirement. Language - change the on screen text language. Default - reverts all setting back to the factory default. Auto hide menu - removes the on screen menu allowing the user to operate the device using the remote and device controls only. Save and exit - Saves any changes the user has made to any of the setting and closes the menu.
