A pitted section can be found by running your finger down the machine. This is the speaker and in the middle of this pitted section is a large, round button which is the ON/OFF/START button. Getting started; You need to take the measurement on your bare arm and if wearing tight clothing, ensure that the circulation in the arm is not impaired when rolling up the sleeve. It is always recommended to carry out measurements on the same arm. Push the end piece of the air tube, which is connected to the cuff into the hole on the left side of the unit prior to use. Ensure that the hose is not damaged and is securely attached. The blood pressure monitor is intended for use as a table-top unit. Slide the open end of the cuff through the metal bracket so that the Velcro fastener is on the outside. Open the cuff and slide over your left upper arm in line with your heart and the lower edge of the cuff should be 1 - 2 cm above the crease of the elbow. Position the air hose in the middle of your arm in line with your middle finger. Only position the cuff on the right arm if it cannot be used on the left arm. Place your arm on the table with the palm uppermost. Pull the cuff tight and close the Velcro fastener. Avoid creating a space between arm and cuff. It may falsify the measured result. Prior to taking the measurement, make sure you are seated and your arm is comfortably resting on a table. Switch on the device with the ON/OFF/START button. Select the desired memory by pressing the MINUS (-) and PLUS (+) buttons. NB there are 2 memories, each with 60 memory spaces to store measurements of 2 different people. On pressing the ON/OFF/START button again the unit inflates the cuff until sufficient pressure has built up for a measurement. Then the unit slowly releases air from the cuff and carries out the measurement. When the measurement is finished, the cuff is deflated completely. The systolic and diastolic blood pressure and the pulse value are announced (if speech function is on) and displayed. The blood pressure indicator on the left edge of the display flashes next to the relevant coloured bar depending on the WHO blood pressure classification (see main instructions). The measured values are stored automatically. A total of up to 120 measured values with time and date can be stored in two memories (U1 and U2). The unit has an automatic switch-off function and will switch off automatically after a minute if no buttons are pressed. Alternatively, the unit can be switched off by pressing the START button. Memory Function; The unit has 2 memories to save up to 60 measurements (blood pressure and pulse with time and date) on each. The measured values are stored automatically. To hear and display the stored measurements; Press the MEMORY (M) button and the unit will display each memory saved starting with the average count of saved readings. Pressing the MEMORY (M) button again will take you through the memories from the most recent through to the first one. Repeatedly pressing the MEMORY (M) button will go through the saved measurements. To exit the Memory at any time, press the START button. Alternatively, after the last stored measurement is announced press the MEMORY (M) button once more and the unit switches off automatically. If all 60 memory locations in a memory are occupied, a new measured value is saved whilst the oldest value is deleted. To delete all stored measurements in the memory; Access one of the stored memories and then press and hold the MINUS (-) and PLUS (+) buttons simultaneously for approximately 6 seconds. All measured data stored will be deleted automatically. modified 26/03/2020
