W25 Talking Radio Controlled Calendar Alarm Watch Your Radio Controlled Watch, will pick up radio signals from within the UK, USA, Germany and Japan. It will automatically set itself using the chosen signal every morning at 3am. After reception of the signal the watch will display and speak the local time. You can also set the time of your watch manually when required for countries without a radio signal. Button layout and function: When adjusting the watch it will describe the buttons as “S” followed by a number. Below are the relevant numbers, positions and functions. S1 - Top right button: Spoken time (Hour and Minute) S2 - Bottom right button: Spoken date (Day, Month, Day and Year) S3 - Top left button: Speaks the status of the alarm. If the alarm is set and on the watch will speak the alarm time. If the alarm is Off, the watch will say “Alarm is Off“. S4 - Bottom left button: Menu button, described throughout these instructions. The best way to receive reception of the radio signal is to place you watch face down, near a window. Before your watch can automatically receive the signal and set itself you need to ensure the watch is set to receive the correct signal for the country you are in. Selecting your country - UK, USA, Germany or Japan: 1. Hold S4 (bottom left) button for 5 seconds or more while the watch is in real time mode, until you hear “Set Alarm, Press S3 to set”. 2. Press S4 another 3 times, until you hear “Global Signal selection, only when you visit this country. Press S3 to set“. 3. Press S3 (top left). You will hear “Press S1 to set, S4 to confirm“. 4. Use S1 (top right) to select the desired country, then press S4 to confirm. 5. After confirmation the watch will announce the local time of the country that you have selected. After the announcement of the time the watch hands will adjust themselves to the current time. Please note that, at this stage, the time will only change by the time difference between the new and previous time zones. This will be adjusted to an exactly accurate time once the watch has been updated by a radio signal. 6. You can now press S1 to hear the time spoken. Please note: If you are selecting the USA as your signal country, you will also need to set the appropriate USA time zone. After you have selected USA, as previously described, continue as follows: 1. Once back in real time mode, hold S4, until you hear “Set Alarm, Press S3 to set”. 2. Push S4 another four times, until you hear “Set Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern for USA time zone setting. Press S3 to set“. 3. Press S3. 4. You will hear “The current Time Zone name” followed by “Press S1 to set, S4 to confirm“. 5. Press S1 repeatedly until you hear your time zone. 6. Press S4 to confirm. 7. After confirmation the watch will speak the time for the new setting and the hands will adjust accordingly. Reception Status Check: 1. Push S4 once, while the watch is in the real time mode. 2. If a radio signal has been successfully received at 3 a.m. the watch will announce the “Country name” followed by “Time Updated“. If the 3 a.m. reception failed, or the watch has been set by manual signal reception as described below, the watch will announce the “Country name” followed by “Time not updated“. Setting the Daily Alarm: 1. While in real time mode hold S4 for more than 5 seconds until you hear “Set Alarm, press S3 to set“. 2. Press S3. You will hear “Press S1 to set Hour, S2 for minute, S4 to confirm“. 3. Press S1 to set the hours and S2 to set the minutes. Ensure you have the correct AM or PM set for the hours. The watch will announce AM or PM after each number. 4. Once you have selected the desired alarm time, press S4 to confirm. 5. After confirmation the watch will speak the Alarm time set. 6. The alarm will chime for 30 seconds at the set time. To stop the alarm beep press any button and the alarm time will be announced. Please note: the alarm is a daily alarm therefore, when you turn the beeping sound off, the alarm will beep again on the next day at the set time, unless the alarm is turned off as below. Alarm ON/OFF: 1. While in real time mode hold S4 for more than 5 seconds until you hear “Set Alarm, Press S3 to set”. 2. Push S4 once more. You will hear “Alarm ON/OFF, press S3 to set“. 3. Press S3 and you will hear “Press S1 to ON, S2 to OFF, S4 to confirm“. 4. To turn OFF the daily alarm press S2 (bottom right). To turn ON the daily alarm press S1 (top right). 5. Press S4 to confirm. To check alarm status: At any time you can check the status of your daily alarm by pressing S3 when in real time mode. If an alarm is set you will hear the time the alarm is set for. If the daily alarm is off you will hear “Alarm is OFF“. Hourly Report/Chime ON or OFF: Please note: when the chime is on, the watch will announce the HOUR every Hour. 1. While in real time mode hold S4 for more than 5 seconds until you hear “Set Alarm, Press S3 to set”. 2. Push S4 twice more, until you hear “Chime ON/OFF, Press S3 to set“. 3. Press S3. You will hear “Press S1 to ON, S2 to OFF, S4 to confirm“. 4. To turn OFF a chime alert/hourly report, Press S2. To turn the chime alert/hourly report ON, press S1. 5. Press S4 to confirm. 6. After the Chime alert / Hourly report is set to ON the watch will announce the Hour every Hour. Manual time setting: Please note: this option should only be used when you visit countries with no radio signal. You will need to set your watch to the local time as described below. Upon returning to a country with a radio signal you will also need to re set your watch to the new local time, otherwise your watch will not be able to pick up the signal at 3am to automatically adjust itself. 1. While in real time mode hold S4 for more than 5 seconds until you hear “Set Alarm, Press S3 to set”. 2. Push S4 five more times, until you hear “Set Time, Press S3 to set“. 3. Press S3. You will hear “Press S1 to set hour, S2 for minute, S4 to confirm“. 4. Press S1 to set hours. Ensure you have the correct AM or PM set for the hours. The watch will announce AM or PM after each number. 5. Press S2 to set minutes then press S4 to confirm. You will hear the selected time. 6. After confirmation the hands will automatically run to the correct time. You cannot manually set Date, Day, Month and Year. The watch shows this information only after a radio signal has been received. Manual signal reception: Normally the watch will look for a radio signal at 3 a.m. local time. You can use the following procedure to make the watch look for a signal at any time. Please note that you may require the help of a sighted person to do this. Use the signal selection section at the beginning of these instructions to select the correct country While the watch is in real time mode:- 1. Hold S3 until the second hand stops. The second hand of the watch will stop at the following reference points (Provided the second hand has been calibrated as under troubleshooting below): - 12 o’clock for UK signal reception - 7 o’clock for USA signal reception - 12:01 for German signal reception - 5 o’clock for Japan signal reception 2. The watch will take from 5-15 minutes to pick up the radio signal. 3. After signal reception the hands will move to display the correct time. Troubleshooting: To re-calibrate the second-hand: 1. Make sure the watch is running normally. 2. Hold S4 for 5 seconds or more until you hear “Set Alarm, Press S3 to set“. 3. Press S4 6 times until you hear “Second-hand alignment, Press S3 to set“. 4. Press S3. The second-hand will move to a new position and then stop somewhere before 6 o’clock. 5. Press S1 repeatedly until the second-hand points to exactly 6 o’clock and then press S4 to confirm. The watch will stop for a while. Wait until the watch resumes running. This confirms that the second-hand has been recalibrated. Watch not receiving time signal: Reasons for not being able to receive the signal include; - Being out of the signal area. - Being in a built up area. - Metal objects blocking the signal. - Interference from a computer or TV.
