VOLUME CONTROL: This wheel can be removed to prevent accidental changing of the volume. We would recommend the clock is returned to Cobolt Systems Ltd. for this to be carried out. There is no charge for this service. The volume will then only be able to be adjusted using a very small screwdriver. BATTERIES: The clock uses 2 x AAA Alkaline batteries. The battery compartment is at the bottom of the left-hand edge of the case, marked with raised lines. Slide the cover down. Remove the old batteries and ensure that the new ones are inserted in the correct way. As you hold the unit with the battery compartment facing upwards and close to you, insert the first battery in the position furthest away, with the positive end of the battery facing upwards. Place the battery closest to you in the unit with the positive end facing down. Replace the battery compartment door by sliding it back onto the unit and ensuring that it clicks into place. When the batteries are low the clock will say LOW BATTERY. If they are changed at that point and replaced within 30 seconds the clock will maintain it's settings.
