Cobolt Speechmaster Software installation and user PC/LAPTOP Instructions INSTALLATION FOR COMPUTER/LAPTOP USE ONLY Installation of the device and software will be done in two parts. Part 1 device setup 1. Remove all packing materials and accessories and retain them, in case you need to return the magnifier to us in the future. 2. Place the magnifier on a hard standing platform. 3. Connect the mains adaptor into the socket labelled DC_12V on the back of the magnifier. 4. Connect the USB cable into the socket labelled USB on the back of the magnifier. 5. Place an item or text document under the magnifier and switch it on using the POWER button on the top right, a green light will indicate the magnifier has powered up. 6. Connect the other end of the USB cable into a USB socket on the computer/laptop. 7. The computer will automatically download the correct USB drivers required for the magnifier. Part 2 software installation 8. Insert the software disc into the computer/laptop. 9. Open the disc folder to view the files. 10. Open the file named DESKTOP VIDEO MAGNIFIER and wait for SETUP - DESKTOP MAGNIFIER licence agreement window to load. 11. Select “I accept the agreement”, click next and wait for Select destination location window to load. 12. C:\Program Files\Desktopwill be displayed as the saved location for the magnifiers program, click next and wait for Select start menu folder window to load. 13. Desktopwill be displayed as the shortcut folder location, click next and wait for Select additional tasks window to load. 14. Ensure that both Create desktop short cut and Create a quick launch short cut are ticked, click next and wait for Ready to install window to load. 15. Click install and wait for installation process to finish, once finished wait for Completing the desktop magnifier setup wizard window to load. 16. Click on finish and wait for the Desktop magnifier application window to open. Once open the screen will display the menu and live image of the item or text document under the camera. 17. A shortcut icon to open the desktop magnifiers application has been placed on the computer/laptops desktop screen. 18. Remove the disc from the computer/laptop and place in the box. 19. Installation and device connection is now complete. DEVICE CONTROL BUTTONS Top right corner - Power on / Power off. Control buttons starting at the 12 oclock position and working clockwise. Zoom in. Change resolution or exit main menu. Fucntion selection right. Main menu. Zoom out. Change between VGA and HDMI out put. Function select left. LED light settings. ON SCREEN MENU Starting at the top menu and working down. Change mouse action to cursor. Change mouse action to pen for freehand writing or drawing on image. Adjust thickness of pen. Change colour of pen. Adjust how light or dark the chosen colour is. Create a text box to add additional text over the image. Change between drawing lines, circles, ovals, triangles and squares. Erase any errors when annotating images. Delete all annotations on the image On screen menu from bottom left Autofocus will re-focus the cameras image if the image appears blurry. Opens an on screen window that allows a small area wherever the cursor placed to be magnified. Change the screens resolution. Zoom in on displayed image. Zoom out on displayed image. Rotate the image around clockwise in 90 degree intervals. Freeze the image on screen allowing for annotation and removal of the item or text. Adjust the screens brightness, contrast and saturation setting. Reset the cameras zoom to its original magnification from any magnified position. Places a purple box around objects or text documents in the cameras live image. Capture and save an image, the saved image will then appear in the gallery on the left hand side of the screen. Using the drop down menu attached to the camera icon the user can change the style and the way the image is captured CAPTURE image sub menu Default - reset capture image control to the original setting. Screen capture - captures the entire full screen including menu. Partial screen capture - opens an adjustable window to allow the user to determine the size of the image captured. Timing capture - Insert the time in seconds and the amount of images requires to be captured. Screen capture to clipboard - Captures image allowing the user copy and paste into another program. Black and white capture - changes the colour of captured image to black and white. Grey capture - Changes the colour of the captured image to grey. Video Recording - opens a new window on the live image, this can be adjusted manually by dragging any of the 8 white dots or selecting one of the 5 preset sizes on the recording window. To start recording click the play button in the middle of the window. Once recording has started the user can either pause, continue or end the recording. After the recording has ended the user can opt to open the file, open the directory or close the recording menu. The recording is automatically saved. Optical character recognition - Once an image has been captured the user can create a PDF, Word, Excel or Text document. Text documents can be used in conjunction with speech software (speech software is not provided). OCR sub menu Import file - select a file form anywhere on the computer/laptop to be loaded in for file conversion. PDF, Word, Excel and Text - select the type file that will be created using the OCR. Language identification - select the language or languages required. OCR recognizing - starts the OCR conversion for the pre-selected file type. The user must insert the file name and choose a save location for the converted document. Last page/Next page - scroll to last image viewed or move to the next image viewed when more than one document is imported or when multiple gallery images are selected. GALLERY - all captured images will be displayed in the gallery box on the left side of the screen. The user can select and highlight a single image or multiple images by clicking each one. SELECT ALL - automatically selects and highlights all saved images in the gallery. DESELECT ALL - automatically deselects and un-highlights all selected saved images in the gallery. IMPORT FILE - import files into the gallery box from different folders on the computer/laptop.
