Talking A4 Desktop Calculator Instructions: The layout of the calculator buttons: (hold the unit with the display at the end furthest away from you and facing upwards). From left to right; The top row of buttons: Volume, Units / Digits, Repeat, AC / ON The next row: Percentage %, Square Root, +/-, CE, Divide Third row: Memory -, 7, 8, 9, Multiply The next row: Memory +, 4, 5, 6, Subtract The fifth row: Memory recall, 1, 2, 3 The bottom row: Memory clear, 0, Point, Equals The Add button is located bottom right of the unit and is the largest button on the calculator. The calculator works on the same basis as a normal calculator with memory, percentage and square root functions. To turn the unit on/off: Press the AC/ON button. The calculator will automatically turn off when it is no longer being used. To adjust the volume: The unit has three volume levels and a speech off level. To change the volume press the VOLUME button, you will hear a beep varying in volume for the three levels and no beep for the speech off level. Repeat button: If you wish to re-hear the last spoken figure press the REPEAT button. Only the last figures will be spoken To adjust unit/digit read out: You can either have the calculator speak the figures as units or individual digits. To change between the two press the UNITS/DIGITS button. When the calculator is in Unit readout mode the word ‘Unit’ will be displayed on the screen. To return to the digit readout, re press the UNIT/DIGIT button. If you are alternating between the units and digits, during a calculation, you will need to press the REPEAT button to re hear the last spoken figure. Earphone function: The socket for the earphone is located on the left side at the furthest end away from you. Once the earphone is connected, the speech automatically goes through the earphones. The volume and other functions of the calculator continue to work in the same way as before. Batteries: 2 x AAA Alkaline batteries Turning the calculator over, so that the display remains at the furthest end away from you. You will feel a raised section at the top end. In the middle of this section there is a clip, which opens the battery compartment door. You will need to push the first battery into the compartment and to the right. Ensure the positive points if the batteries are pointing to the left. Place the second battery into the compartment by pushing on the first battery. Replace the compartment door. modified 26/03/2020
